Vexev Raises A$8.6 Million to Advance Australian-Built Robotic Ultrasound Platform in the United States

SYDNEY, Australia, August 7, 2026 - Australian medical robotics company Vexev today announced it has raised A$8.6 million in new funding to accelerate the path to FDA 510(k) clearance and U.S. commercialisation of VxWave, its robotic tomographic ultrasound platform.

The fundraise follows successful results in a multi-site clinical study conducted with U.S. Renal Care across dialysis clinics in Texas and will support regulatory activities, manufacturing scale-up and commercial preparation. The raise brings Vexev’s total funding to A$27 million (USD$19 million).

Australia has a strong history of translating local research and engineering expertise into globally adopted medical technologies. Vexev is part of the next generation leading that capability and intends to expand its manufacturing operations for the advanced robotic medical imaging platform in Surry Hills ahead of rollout to the one of the largest healthcare markets in the United States.

Cardiovascular disease is the world's leading cause of death, claiming nearly 20 million lives each year.¹ Yet access to high-quality vascular imaging remains constrained by specialist availability and inconsistent image acquisition.

VxWave combines robotics, artificial intelligence and ultrasound to define a new category of non-invasive medical imaging. The platform is being initially developed for upper-limb vascular imaging, with dialysis vascular access as its first application. Dialysis patients require repeated vascular assessments, while healthcare providers face increasing demand for efficient, standardised imaging.

Heersink School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and past president of the American Society of Nephrology. "The company's initial focus on dialysis vascular access addresses an important challenge for patients and providers, and I believe this technology has the potential to bring meaningful innovation to dialysis patients with vascular access challenges."

During the multi-site study, the VxWave demonstrated a 94% scanning success for autonomous vascular imaging by non-specialist clinical staff, with the potential ability to standardise vascular imaging designed to improve consistency and potentially decreasing time to diagnosis and treatment.

Vexev intends to expand its autonomous vascular imaging platform into additional vascular disease applications like cardiovascular and peripheral artery disease, while building the clinical evidence needed to support future AI-enabled decision support.

The fundraise round included participation from existing investors Blackbird Ventures, Neotribe Ventures, Startmate and Horizon, together with new investors TreeArc Investment Group, TEN13, Bioshore Ventures and Alumni Ventures.
